The Accademia Rossiniana opens on the 3rd July

On Monday 3rd July the Teatro Sperimentale will witness the opening of the XXIX edition of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, named after the Milanese maestro who has directed the Accademia since its foundation in 1989.
The Accademia, a permanent seminar dedicated to the study of the problems of modern bel canto interpretation, offers pupils and auditors lessons in vocal interpretation, musicology and acting, lectures on apposite subjects, master classes.
In addition to the lessons and master classes held by Ernesto Palacio with the musical support of Rubén Sánchez-Vieco, the programme envisages contributions from Gianfranco Mariotti, Sovrintendente of the Festival, from the musicologist and conductor Marco Mencoboni, the musicologists Federico Agostinelli and Daniele Carnini, the physiotherapist Frank Musarra, the ear, nose and throat specialist Franco Fussi, the master class by the tenor Juan Diego Flórez and the meeting with the cast of Le siege de Corinthe.
The course will end on Monday 17th July at 8.00 p.m., with the usual Final Concert, during which the pupils, accompanied at the piano by Rubén Sánchez-Vieco, will sing music from Rossini operas.
The young singers of the Accademia Rossiniana will take leading roles in Il viaggio a Reims, which will be staged at the Teatro Rossini on the 14th and 16th August, in the framework of the Festival Giovane of the XXXVIII edition of the Rossini Opera Festival.
