Concert of Aldar Abdrazakov at the Teatro Rossini

On Saturday 19th August at 3.30 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini the bass Ildar Abdrazakov will sing music by Verdi, Mozart and Rossini, with the Filarmonica Gioachino Rossini conducted by Iván López-Reynoso.

The programme features the Prelude and Attila’s aria “Mentre gonfiarsi l’anima” from Verdi’s Attila; King Philip’s aria “Ella giammai m’amò” from Verdi’s Don Carlo; the Prelude and Don Silva’s Recitative and Cavatina “Che mai vegg’io…..Infelice!...e tuo credevi” from Verdi’s Ernani. Mozart will be represented by the Overture to Così fan tutte, and both Leporello’s Catalogue Song “Madamina! Il catalogo è questo” and Don Giovanni’s Canzonetta “Deh vieni alla finestra” from Don Giovanni. From Rossini’s Semiramide, the programme includes the Overture and Assur’s Recitative and Aria “Il dì già cade….Deh! Ti ferma, ti placa, perdona”.

Born at Ufa (Russia), Ildar Abdrazakov won the Maria Callas International Television Competition in 2000. The following year he made his debut at La Scala, Milan. He sings regularly in the leading theatres of the world, including the Metropolitan, New York, the Vienna Opera and the Bayerischer Staatsoper. He has sung at the BBC Proms, London, and the Carnegie Hall, New York, and with international orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony and the Vienna Philharmonic. Among the numerous leading rôles he has sung we might mention Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Leporello in Don Giovanni, Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust, Selim in Il Turco in Italia, Banquo in Macbeth and the title rôles in Prince Igor and Attila. As from 2007 he has been an ambassador in the Zegna & Music Project, a philanthropic initiative founded by the fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna for the promotion of music and its values. At the Rossini Opera Festival he has sung the Stabat Mater, Il Turco in Italia (Selim) in 2002, and Semiramide (Assur) in 2003.
