On July 31st, 1989, the first edition of the Accademia Rossiniana was opened. In the following days, up to the final concert on 14 August, Alberto Zedda, Director of the Accademia, and Rossinians such as Philip Gossett, Bruno Cagli, Rodolfo Celletti and d’Amico himself gave lectures and worked with the students. Meetings were held with Gianluigi Gelmetti, Ion Marin, Michael Hampe, Francesca Zambello, Maurizio Pollini, Katia Ricciarelli and Samuel Ramey.
