Il Viaggio a Reims on Opera Vision
OperaVision, the freeview opera streaming platform run by Opera Europa, allows viewers to watch live streams as the performances themselves unfold in the opera house. The platform offers a variety of shows – including opera, operetta, musical theatre, dance, ballet and concerts – all for free, live and on demand.
OperaVision also believes in its role as a digital stage for emerging artists. In a new partnership with several young artists’ programmes in Europe – notably at Oper Frankfurt, Palau de les Arts Valencia, Rossini Opera Festival and Opera for Peace – OperaVision will stream performances, masterclasses, and concerts by the next generation of talent, as well as produce a new podcast following the journeys of a selection of singers.
Nina Brazier, curator and host of the OperaVision Next Generation podcast said: “The OperaVision Next Generation podcast will give us the unique opportunity to explore the experience of emerging opera singers in settings right across Europe. The Rossini Opera Festival’s Accademia Rossiniana is a programme unlike any other, offering an intense development period to a group of singers looking to perfect their Rossini interpretations and compete for roles in a fully-staged production. With one-on-one interviews with the singers and the experts they are working with, the podcast will offer an intimate portrayal of emerging artists exploring and finding their operatic voice.”
This summer Opera Vision will broadcast live streaming the first performance of Il viaggio a Reims on August 13. In the following six months, Il viaggio a Reims of August 13 and 15 will be available on the web platform.
