The Concerti al Museo 2023
The programmes in the Festival Giovane 2023 [The Youth Festival] continue, featuring pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda” in an extended series of concerts dedicated to Rossini’s music and to Bel Canto.
Following upon the success of the Salons Rossini, the pupils of the Academy will, from the 5th to the 17th August, present the Concerti al Museo [Concerts at the Museum], five recitals for voice and piano organized at the Museo Nazionale Rossini (Via Passeri, 72) in collaboration with Sistema Museo and the Fondazione Rossini. Entrance is free of charge, subject to the availability of seats.
This series has now reached its third edition and is given in the evocative Sala degli Specchi [Mirror Hall] of the Museo Nazionale Rossini. Here is housed the Pleyel pianoforte that belonged to Rossini and was given by him – writing his autograph signature on the sounding-board as was usual in his day – to his personal doctor Giacomo D’Ancona on the occasion of his marriage to Henriette Oulman in Paris. On this instrument Rossini would often accompany the married couple who would sing his salon compositions.
The first concert will take place on Saturday 5th August at 11.00 a.m. and will be given by Michele Galbiati (tenor) and Alberto Comes (bass-baritone) who will sing pieces from L’Italiana in Algeri accompanied at the Pleyel pianoforte by Rubén Sánchez-Vieco.
Michele Galbiati and Alberto Comes will sing the Duet for Lindoro and Mustafà: “Se inclinassi a prender moglie”, Alberto Comes will present Mustafà’s Aria: “Già d’insolito ardore”. Finally Michele Galbiati will perform Lindoro’s Cavatina: “Languir per una bella”.
The second concert in the series of Concerti al Museo will he held on Saturday 12th August at 11.00 a.m. and will feature Maria Rita Combattelli and Andrés Cascante.
