Messa di Ravenna

The Messa di Ravenna, a sacred composition by Rossini, will be performed for the first time at Teatro Rossini on Sunday 11th August at 4 pm. Rossini composed this piece during his years in Bologna, commissioned by his friend Agostino Triossi, a music-loving entrepreneur from Ravenna who managed Rossini’s finances until his later years. Ferdinando Sulla, who previously prepared the critical edition of the Messa di Milano performed at ROF in the autumn of 2020, has revised this composition using sources from the Fondazione Rossini.
